Custom systems were developed using Microsoft Excel. Each system interacted with various platforms and sources to download data automatically and produce reports. The application typically incorporated sales, performance and reporting of contracts.
 
Coal Quality Reporting Tool, Brisbane,†Australia
A reporting tool was created to firstly collate all the coal quality information emailed from the laboratory and then provide the platform for managers to run a suite of standardised and ad hoc reports. The system was fully automated, saving valuable time and reduced the likelihood for mistakes.
 
Integrated Coal Chain Logistics Intelligence Tool - Mine to Port,†Australia
A system management tool was designed and developed using Microsoft Excel (VBA).† This tool combined information from multiple sources into one application, therefore reducing duplication of information, and margin for error.† The application also automated various tasks, saving the organisation significant amounts of time.† A visual planning module was also included.† The reporting output from this tool gave management key insight into their business position within the market.†††
 
Joint Loaded Vessel Statements, Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal, Australia
A†review of the methodology for producing Joint Loaded Vessel Statements was conducted.† This review involved modelling four new calculation methodologies in order to find a simpler, fairer process for calculating the amount of demurrage that each user should pay at†the multi-user terminal.† Once all the Users agreed on the suitable methodology, a reporting tool was developed in Microsoft Excel (VBA) to automate the process.
 
Project Management Database, QR National Coal South, Australia
A relational database was developed using Microsoft Access 2003 to consolidate data and keep track of projects. The application also included a project prioritiser, so that each project could be given a rating. Management reports were also created.

    Queue Management System, DBCT, Australia
    Development of a Queue Management System according to the rules set out in the Terminal Regulations. Issues addressed included risk management, process efficiency, error checking and customised report automation.
     
    Operational Reporting, DBCT, Australia
    Extensive numerical reports were created and automated for the operations and logistics department at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal. Many of these reports retrieved data from an SQL database and analysis of this data was performed in Microsoft Excel.

    Development of various Microsoft Excel based tools that automated the production of reports from 1000ís of data files generated by a shipping simulation program. The tools were extremely flexible and catered for any type of analysis to be included in the report.† Approximately 40 days of labour was saved.
